www.StoryTellerSI.com/SIS

The Schools Insight System is in development. What already exists is the part that matters most: AMP works directly with schools and young people, and turns what students say about their neighborhoods into insight you can act on. If you're a district thinking about this, we'd like to build it with you.

Primary Data

Action Mapping Project

Our nonprofit youth insight partner, the award-winning Action Mapping Project (AMP), works with schools, young people, public agencies and place-making organizations, and is prepared to coordinate directly with your schools. The youth survey below is running in districts today.

Built with a founding district

We're shaping the Schools Insight System with our first district partners rather than guessing at it. If safe routes, attendance areas, or student voice are on your desk, talk to us — the earliest partners decide what this becomes.

Secondary Data:Census ACS, Crime, Sidewalks…

The context layers we already attach to routes, stops and areas elsewhere — who lives where, and the street conditions around them — apply just as well to attendance areas and the walk to school.

Impact Hub:What we'd build with you

The pieces below are proven in the Transit Insight System and are what a Schools Impact Hub would be assembled from. Exactly how they come together for a district is the part we want to design with you:

  • AMP youth insight
  • Your own GIS data
  • Census, crime, sidewalks, etc.
  • Student & family survey insight

Action Map Youth Survey & Insight

All spatial prompts yield insight in the form of at least one longitudinal indicator. Indicators are used to evaluate routes, stops, and areas inside an Impact Hub. For each prompt, respondents are asked to draw points, lines, or outlines and to then share a story.

Want to see this on your own map?

We'll walk you through a live Impact Hub built from real survey data, and talk about what it would take to stand one up for you.
